![]() 1. Nasir Khan and Asha Posley played the lead in Pakistan's first feature film (1948). Produced by Deewan Sardari Lal, Teri Yaad was released on 2 September 1948 at a side theatre in Lahore. It was lacking in production quality and that along with the Quaid's death soon after contributed to its failure.

![]() 1. Sachchai was produced by Swaranlata (Saeeda Bano) making her first female film producer of Pakistan. The film, lacking in quality, got poor response at the box office.
![]() 2. Shahida becomes Nasir Khan's second and last film in Pakistan. Shamim played the lead in Shahida, best remembered for her role in Kishore Sahu's family drama Sindoor (1947). Film also marked the debut of famous villain Himaliyawala. Himaliyawala acted so inspiringly in this film that his name became known to all and sundry in the country. Shahida was directed by another top artist from India, Luqman, and its music was by Ghulam Haider and G. A. Chishti. Film critics wrote heart-felt reviews of Himaliyawala's performance in Shahida, and likened his acting to Mehboob Khan’s hit film in India, Eilan (1947), where he had done similar work.
![]() 3. Pheray, the first punjabi film of Pakistan, made with a meagre 65,000 rupees was completed within a record time of six weeks. Pheray proved to be a big money-maker even in competition with the films produced in Bombay. It found its place in the archives of our national film industry as the first Pakistani movie to have celebrated its silver jubilee. The success of the film was mainly attributed to its Punjabi songs, written and composed by G.A. Chisthi (his debut film in Pakistan), an austere musician and lyricist of the folk music genre. It is said that for Pheray, he wrote, composed and recorded seven songs in just one day, all of which became very popular.
![]() 4. One of the greatest music directors of Pakistan - Master Inayat Hussain started his career by composing the songs of Hichkolay. The film failed to click at box-office. However, its songs Jise dekho wohi dushman hey mere ashiane ka by Munawar Sultana and Mein payar ka dia jalata hun by Ali Bux Zahoor are still remembered
