Sudhir in Gumnaam

1.     Sassi - directed by Daud Chand became the first Golden Jubilee Urdu film of Pakistan and made Sabiha Khanum Pakistan's first film-star.

2.     Roohi - directed by W.Z. Ahmed became the first Pakistani movie banned by the Film Censor Board of Pakistan. The ban was later revoked but ruined the film's commercial chances. Although a great work of art, it was banned because of two reasons :-

Generating class hatred

Showing rich married woman (played by Sahira) having an affair with a young, unmarried man (played by Shad).

3.     Leading film personalities were arrested in Lahore agitating at Regent Cinema against the release of Indian film Jaal (Starring :- Geeta Bali, Dev Anand). It was illegally imported through the quota of the then East Pakistan and brought to West Pakistan by Bari Malik. The agitation was led by W.Z.Ahmed, Shaukat Husain Rizvi, Saifuddin Saif, Sibtain Fazli and almost all famous talent followed including Noor Jahan, Neena, Santosh, Sudhir, Bibbo, Allaudin, and M. Ismail.

4.      Nasreen and Seema were introduced in Gumnaam.

5.     Actor/Music Director Rafiq Ghaznavi composed his first film in Pakistan - Parwaaz. Film also marked the debut of evergreen actor Yusuf Khan.
